Secretary of State Mr. Antony Blinken is en route to Israel on Sunday for a trip focused on bridging the significant gaps between Israel and Hamas on a U.S.-sponsored cease-fire proposal aimed at ending 10 months of fighting in the devastated Gaza Strip.
U.S.A. negotiators, led by CIA Director William J. Burns, presented the “bridging proposal" to Israel and Hamas on Friday, announcing the Significant Aim of concluding the negotiations as soon as this week. But serious doubts remain about whether sticking points can be resolved amicably and with an affirmative action.
