SEOUL — South Korean police and prosecutors surrounded the presidential residence in Seoul in a huge predawn operation on Wednesday, as they sought to execute a warrant to arrest President Yoon Suk Yeol.
In extraordinary scenes that unfolded in the early hours of Wednesday morning, rows of police buses blocked the main road outside the presidential residence in one of Seoul’s ritziest neighborhoods, stopping traffic and forcing city buses and delivery vehicles to turn around.
Few Hours Later,South Korean authorities navigated and rectified the exact location to detained President Yoon Suk Yeol Wednesday morning, after he surrendered to “avoid bloodshed” following a dramatic predawn police raid on his official residence.
Mr.Yoon, who was impeached last month after making a brief but botched attempt to impose martial law and exert political control, becomes the first South Korean president to be detained while still in office.
