Country superstar Jason Aldean is catching heat for his latest single, as its recently released music video adds fuel to the fire.
Aldean’s single, “Try That in a Small Town,” was released in May. On the surface, it has the makings of a common country hit, with themes of small towns, guns and rugged self-sufficience.
“When u grow up in a small town, it’s that unspoken rule of ‘we all have each other’s backs and we look out for each other,’” Aldean wrote while introducing the music video on Twitter. “It feels like somewhere along the way, that sense of community and respect has gotten lost. Deep down we are all ready to get back to that.”
