The 2024 Wells Fargo Professional Golf Championship continues on Saturday, May 11, with the third round at Quail Hollow Club in North Carolina.
In the final weekend of prep ahead of next week’s PGA Championship, Xander Schauffele has to be feeling pretty good about his prospects.
Xander Schauffele is seeking his eighth career PGA Tour win. The 2024 Wells Fargo Championship continues on Saturday, May 11, with the third round at Quail Hollow Club in North Carolina.
The seven-time PGA Tour winner however, holds a four-shot lead at the Wells Fargo Championship halfway point, with a total score of 11 under par. Schauffele’s closest adversaries? Rory McIlroy and Jason Day, who are tied for second at seven under par.
The Wells Fargo has a $20 milion purse, with $3.6 million to the winner. Wyndham Clark is the defending champion, while Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, Max Homa and most of the top players in the rankings are set to compete.18

McIlroy will play in the final pairing with Schauffele on Saturday. The duo will tee off at 1:35 p.m. ET. Day will play in the penultimate pairing with Taylor Moore at 1:25 p.m. ET.
