CONSERVATIVE AHEAD TO VICTORY IN GERMANY'S ELECTION; FARRIGHT POTENTIALLY SURGES.

The conservative Christian Democrats appeared to be heading toward victory in Germany’s parliamentary election Sunday, early exit polls showed, while the far right was making historic gains, 80 years after the defeat of fascism.

Migration was also a major issue during the campaign.
