MLS SEASON 2024 RESULTS SUMMARY UPDATE:
Defensive challenge for D.C. United when as they travelled away to face Timbers who ranks 1st at the league standings and During the last 10 meetings, Portland Timbers have won 4 times, there have been 2 draws while DC United have won 4 times.
The Portland Timbers ,however, started the firsthalf of the match so well and with alot of optimism to continue their winning strip this season as they rank 1st in the Western Conference.
Portland Forward Asprilla scored the first goal at 18th minute in the firsthalf ,as the home team maintain tactical possession football.
However,the secondHalf brought alot of excitement and actually exposed the beauty of the game as the MLS Keeps getting Better season after season.
Midfielder S.Moreno incredibly scored the second for the Timbers inthe secondhalf at the 61st minute as the Spectators Jeered them up in Celebration at the Providence Park Stadium.
D.C. United however, didn’t giveup but rather kept their hopes high in the secondhalf with brilliant possession football.they amazingly created alot of scoring chances but to no avail till M.Klich (Midfielder)converted a Penalty at the 72nd minute to quicken their team Spirit once again.
Approaching the stoppagetime of the second half K.Fletcher scored an 82nd minute Captivating goal to draw the match and ensured at least a point away from home in an MLS match at Providence Park in Portland, Oregon on Saturday, March 2, 2024.
