The sensationally anticipated AFCON 2023-2024 Trophy of nations Tournament between host nation IvoryCoast and DRCongo Kicked-Off with much enthusiasm a from both National teams at the Olympic Stadium of Ebimge on 7th February 2024.
Initailly,both national teams has competed in recent meetings at the African Nations Championship for four(4) times and a Friendly Game(18th January,2023,20th January 2017,4th February 2015,15th October 2014 and 13 October 2019) Respectively.
However,IvoryCoast dorminated Possession in the first half of the match and created tengible scoring opportunities for themselves as they attributed brilliant attacking Football Tactically.
DR Congo also was fantastic with their tactical possession football as they gave the IvoryCoast team a better challenge on the pitch of play.
C.bakambu(Forward),Y.Wissa(Midfielder),M.Elia(Midfielder),G.Kakuta(Midfielder) and C.Mbemba(Defender) played well,but it was just unfortunate that the team couldn’t Captalize on the scoring opportunities they had during the match.
However,M.Gradel(Forward),S.Hailer(Forward),S.Adingra(Forward) and F.Kessie Pioneered the Ivory Coast national team to a captivating Win,As S.Hailer scored an incredible Goal to ensure the Victory for the Host nation to qualify to the Grade Final.
