The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has in collaboration with government's robust industrialization agenda, commissioned the Sentuo Oil Refinery Limited which is the first Private company own refinery in the country,as part of the 1D1F Policy on Thursday, 26th January, 2024 in Tema.
Sentuo Oil Refinery was conceived from the Chinese government's Belt and Road Development Strategy for the oil and gas industry in China & Africa. Following extensive research and consultations, the Sentuo Group settled on Shanghai HoTo Engineering's oil refinery technology.
However,the Tactical strategic final act to this unfolding drama, the Sentuo Oil Refinery (SOR), a $1.98 million USD private investment with a capacity of 5 million metric tons per annum, is set to begin operations few miles away from the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) which is one of two crude oil refineries in Ghana. In 1977, the Government of Ghana became the sole shareholder.
