Court orders Shatta Wale to pay $120,000 Plus interest to Wildaland Festival

In addition to the above mentioned amount, the court has also ordered the “On God” hitmaker to pay GHc 20,000 in damages.


This comes two years after organizers of the Wildaland Festival took Shatta Wale to court for failing to perform at the festival despite receiving a $120,000 full payment.


Shatta Wale had been billed as one of the headliners of the festival which happened in Shai Hills in Accra. He however, failed to show up to perform, despite receiving full payment.


The founder of the festival , Sadiq Abudulia Abu expressed his displeasure at the musician’s decision not to fulfill his part of the agreement, and the matter was since taken to court.


In a report by Nydjlive.com, the court, led by her ladyship Afi Agbanu Kudomor J. has since granted Maverick Entertainment, the Plaintiff, the full $120,000, plus an interest on the sum of $120,000 from 14th December 2021 to the date of the final payment at a rate of 5.5% (New York federal interest rate) being a sum total of ten thousand eight hundred and ninety-two United States Dollars forty-seven cents ($10,892.47).
