Mr.Richard Bland won the 44th U.S. Senior Open with a par on the fourth playoff hole at Newport Country Club, outlasting Japan's Mr.Hiroyuki Fujita in a marathon Monday finish in Rhode Island. Both players finished regulation at 13-under 267, requiring a two-hole aggregate playoff on Nos. 10 and 18.
Nobody has been more consistent this week at Newport Country Club than Legendary Senior Golfer Hiroyuki Fujita. The 55-year-old from Japan has missed just one fairway and registered only one bogey all week en route to posting three consecutive sub-par rounds in the 44th U.S. Senior Open. A third-round, "3-under 67" on an overcast Saturday kept Mr.Fujita at a tengible Probability lead at the leaderboard at "14-under 196" , a place he’s occupied since the competition began on Thursday.
The 44th U.S. Senior Open, conducted by the United States Golf Association, will be held June 27-30, 2024, at Newport (R.I.) Country Club, and will feature a field of 156 of the world’s best professional and amateur senior golfers (over the age of 50).
